Sycamore Shows Its Support!

Our film community is growing every day! We wanted to take the opportunity to showcase some of our newest community partners, and share our thanks that they are supporting Other Almosts.

PJ's Courthouse Tavern

Housed in a building built during the reconstruction of Sycamore after a fire in 1870, PJ's Courthouse Tavern has a love for the history of Sycamore. Opened in 1994, PJ's hosts live music, special events, and sporting event viewings. With 15 different types of beers on tap, PJ's is a fun mix of Sycamore's past and present.

PJ's Courthouse Tavern donated food for our cast and crew to eat while filming, and we're excited to be our own small part of this historic establishment. Grab a bite there if you get the opportunity!

Franklin's Frames and Art

With everything from to custom framing and frame repair and resizing, to quilt hangers and photo restoration, Franklin's Frames and Art offers great, personal service and connects with its customers to make sure everything looks great. It's been under its current owner since 2009. (He's even had his photos selected as American Photo Magazine's best photo of the year!)

Franklin's Frames and Art made a monetary donation to our campaign, and helped get us over the halfway mark toward our $30,000 goal. If you have the chance, check out their gallery!

Betty Jean's Soul Food Diner

Betty Jean's Soul Food Diner is a place with family at its core. Named in honor of the owner's mother, its mission is to share family favorites with the community, to make everyone reminisce about good times and good food. While they no longer cook everything from scratch (how could they!), Betty Jean's Soul Food is a love affair with cooking that goes back decades.

Betty Jean's has donated meals to feed the cast and crew while we shoot in Sycamore, and our stomachs are already growling. Stop by and chow down if you can!

Thanks to all of these community partners for supporting Other Almosts and getting involved. Thanks too to all of the Sycamore, Illinois, and Midwest community leaders who have followed, donated, and spread the word about our film. And thanks to everyone reading this who has followed, shared, or donated! We still have a lot to do before the campaign closes, but your support means so much to us!
